Practicals

Practical 1Vocal Music Training: Vilambit and Drut Khayal with gayaki to be presented in all ragas; Dhrupad-Dhamar or Sadra composition in each of the prescribed Ragas with Alap, Layakari & Upaj; Presentation of one semi classical/devotional or light composition.
Practical 2Prescribed Ragas & Talas: Bageshree, Rageshree, Des One Vilambit Khayal with Alaaps and Taans in any one of the prescribed Ragas; Drut/Madhyalaya Khayal in the prescribed ragas; Demonstration of one One Lok Geet/ Ghazal on Harmonium; Identifying Ragas and Talas of the prescribed syllabus while being played or sung; Ability to recite the Thekas of the prescribed Talas and their Dugun, Chugun Tivra Tala, Dhamar; Elementary Knowledge of Playing Harmonium.
Practical 3Practical file with details of Ragas, Notations of compositions & Talas with Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun. Western Classical Music Composition Instrumental Music Practices: Demonstration of following Ragas (Rag Yaman, Rag Bhoopali, Rag Bhairva, Rag Bilawal) by playing Gat with improvisation: Five Toras; Swar Vistar or Jod Alap in additional Ragas (Rag Brindabani Sarang, Rag Desh); One Masseet Khani Gat in any one Raga; Identification and production of all twelve notes individually or jointly with definite Matras; Playing Ten Alankars; Recitation of Talas (Teen Tal, Dadra, Rupak, Ektal) with Dugun and Chaugun speed; Practice of rendering Dugun and Chaugun speeds by Swaras, numericals or syllables; Practice of playing Arohi, Avrohi of Ten Principal scales - That.
Practical 4Playing the following Tals on Tabla in Thah Dugun and Chaugun Laya Karies: (i) Teen Tal (ii) Ektal (iii) Chartal (iv) Rupak (v) Tivra. Demonstration of: (i) One Peshkara or Uthan for Kayadas and their Paltas in Teen Tal (ii) Four Kismes in Teen Tal (iii) One Paran in Chartal or Ektal (iv) One Tiha in Rupak or Tivra. Identification and production of syllables on Tabla. Accompaniment of Tabla (only Thekas) with music played or sung.
